2021 Disaster Preparedness/Hurricane Season
Hurricane season is already upon us! As we emerge from a public health crisis, we cannot forget the threat of natural disaster that exists by living in Florida. We saw from Tropical Depression Eta just how quickly we can see rising waters and dangerous winds. Now is the time to create a plan – prepare your home, stock up on supplies, and see if you are in an evacuation area. I also encourage residents to attend informative events on preparing for hurricanes – like the Greater Hollywood Chamber of Commerce’s Disaster Preparedness forums, the first of which was held in April.
